Sikkim Lok Sabha MP Dr. Indra Hang Subba asked railway officials to speed up ongoing train projects in Sikkim during a meeting in Guwahati.
During the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee meeting,
Dr. Subba urged the Northeast Frontier Railway to finish the Sevoke-Rangpo rail project quickly. This project will give Sikkim its first direct train connection. He said the project is very important for tourism, trade, and the economy of the state.
The MP also asked for faster work on the
Final Location Survey and the Detailed Project Report for the proposed Melli-Dentam rail project. He wants the survey and report to finish soon to avoid delays. Better train connections are needed for long-term development and easy travel for the public in Sikkim.
