Sikkim Launches Aadhaar Biometric Attendance From Oct 1

The Sikkim Government is introducing the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System across all government departments. Attendance monitoring through this new system will begin from October 1, 2026, at State and District Headquarters.

System Details and Usage

According to a circular issued by the Home Department, the system has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and linked with the Aadhaar of users. Government employees must register and record their attendance through smartphones from designated workplace locations. Regular and temporary employees must follow this rule.

Salary Deductions for Absence

Attendance and leave records will be linked with the government PRANALI system. Failure to record attendance will be treated as Extraordinary Leave with automatic salary deduction. Nodal officers will verify leaves at the end of every month, and DDOs will generate orders for employees with unapproved absences.
