Indian cricket team captain Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten double century during the second ODI match against West Indies in Guwahati. India successfully chased down a target of 406 runs to secure their highest-ever run-chase in ODI cricket.
Shubman Gill scored 223 runs not out from 133 balls, hitting 26 fours and eight sixes.
His innings included the fastest ODI double century ever and the highest individual score by a batter while chasing in ODI history.
Gill also became the first cricketer to score an ODI double century while leading the team as captain.
West Indies scored 405 runs for the loss of seven wickets after centuries from John Campbell, Shai Hope, and Amir Jangoo. In response,
a 255-run opening partnership between centurion Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill laid the foundation for the victory.
Rohit Sharma scored 101 runs from 75 balls before India reached the target with eight wickets in hand.
