Government employees demand old pension scheme
Members of the Uttar Pradesh Sanitation Workers Union held a protest march in Shamli to demand the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). The employees stated that the current New Pension Scheme (NPS) does not provide a guaranteed pension and carries risks due to its connection to the stock market. The union submitted a memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate addressed to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister to ensure financial security after retirement.
Road accident leads to protests
Residents held a protest on the Saharanpur-Karnal highway following the death of an 18-year-old student, Rohan, in a road accident. The student was killed after being hit by a car while riding his bike on the Badhev-Malandi road. Following negotiations with local administrative officials, the family ended the protest after receiving assurances regarding financial aid and strict action against the accused driver.
Campaign against drug abuse launched
Shri SS Jain Sabha and Kiran Seva Samiti started a drug-free awareness campaign at Hindu Kanya Inter College.
