Indian opener Shafali Verma made history by becoming the first women player to score a century in the Asian Games. She achieved this record during the second semi-final match against Bangladesh at the Korogi Sports Park on Sunday.

Record Breaking Innings

The right-handed batter remained not out on 100 runs from 49 balls. Her powerful innings included three fours and nine big sixes. This knock helped her enter multiple record books in women T20 international matches. Her century is the third hundred for India Women in the T20 format.

Most Sixes and Calendar Year Records

Shafali moved up the list of most sixes in women T20 matches with her nine hits over the boundary. She now has a total of 102 sixes in this format. She also equalled the record for the most 50-plus scores in a calendar year with eight such scores in 2026.

India Posts Massive Total
