Security Forces Find 27 Bombs Along Manipur Border

Joint security forces successfully detected and neutralized 27 Improvised Explosive Devices along the Manipur border. Security forces found 27 IEDs along an 8-kilometer stretch of the Shangkhalok-Pilong route in Manipur's Kamjong district.
Details of the Security Operation
The intelligence-led operation took place between October 4 and October 7, 2026. Specialist bomb disposal squads used advanced detection equipment and sniffer dogs to safely clear the explosives near Pilong village.
Reason for Increased Security
Defence officials stated that the explosives were hidden in bushes to target patrolling troops and civilians. Assam Rifles confirmed that the operation prevented attempts to disrupt regional peace and ensured safe movement for locals.
