Security arrangements are being tightened in Siliguri for the upcoming visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. State DGP Siddhinath Gupta visited the Kawakhali ground on Tuesday to inspect the security preparations at the venue.
Details of the Program
A five-day event will be held this week at the Kawakhali ground to raise public awareness about the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and new criminal laws. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to inaugurate this program. During his inspection, the DGP reviewed the stage setup, entry and exit routes, parking facilities, and overall security protocols. He also held discussions with police and administrative officials regarding the arrangements.
Traffic and Crowd Management
Police are focusing on crowd control and traffic management due to the expected large number of attendees. Officials have been instructed to ensure strict security measures are in place around the venue. The five-day awareness program will use plays and other presentations to explain the new criminal laws and the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to the public in simple language. The administration aims to maintain law and order while ensuring the safe movement of people during the visit.
