Saharanpur Police Seize Pickup Truck Blocking Kanwar Route

Saharanpur police have seized a pickup truck for obstructing the Kanwar Yatra route and violating traffic regulations in the district. The vehicle was intercepted by the Mirjapur police station team during a routine check to ensure the safety and smooth movement of pilgrims participating in the Kanwar Yatra.

Action taken by local police

Under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, the local administration is conducting regular checks to maintain law and order during the religious procession. The Mirjapur police team seized the pickup truck bearing registration number UP 11 DT 3049, which was found transporting poultry while obstructing the route from Hathnikund towards Gandevad. The driver failed to provide valid documents for the vehicle, leading to immediate legal action.

Legal proceedings under Motor Vehicles Act

Following the obstruction, the police officer in charge of Mirjapur station took decisive action against the vehicle owner. The pickup truck was seized on the spot under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act for causing a public nuisance and failing to produce necessary vehicle permits. The district police continue to monitor the designated routes to prevent any further disruptions to the ongoing Kanwar Yatra.
