Rohit Sharma has become the third Indian batter to complete 12,000 runs in One Day Internationals. The star Indian batter reached this major milestone during a match on Wednesday.
Rohit reached 12,000 ODI runs in 282 innings. This makes him the second-fastest batter to reach this landmark in cricket history. Virat Kohli reached the milestone in 242 innings, while Sachin Tendulkar took 300 innings. Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara are also part of this top list. Rohit reached the landmark with his 73rd run using a single off Roston Chase.
Since making his ODI debut in 2007, Rohit has played 290 matches. He has scored 12,000 runs with 34 centuries and 62 half-centuries. His career includes the highest individual score in men ODI cricket with an unbeaten 264 against Sri Lanka in Kolkata in 2014. He is also the only batter to score three double-centuries in this format.
