Rajnath Singh Launches Rs 3500 Crore Defence Projects

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone for five brownfield expansion projects for Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd and Yantra India Limited in Kolkata. The total investment is estimated at nearly Rs 3,500 crore to boost India's domestic defence manufacturing capabilities.

Details of the Shipbuilding Projects

GRSE is leading projects totaling Rs 2,670 crore across three facilities. These include a 32-acre riverside facility at Raichak, the Timber Pond facility at Shalimar, and the Damodar facility at Kidderpore Docks source.

Yantra India Limited Investments

Yantra India Limited is investing over Rs 750 crore at the Metal and Steel Factory in Ishapore. This includes a 3,000-ton hydraulic forging press and a radial forging plant source.
