New Solar Water Tank Installed at Rajganj Rural Hospital

Patients and their families visiting the Rajganj Rural Hospital in Jalpaiguri will now have access to clean drinking water following the installation of a new solar-powered water tank. The project was completed at a cost of approximately 3.5 lakh rupees and was funded by the Rajganj Panchayat Samiti to address the long-standing water shortage at the facility.

Solving Drinking Water Issues

Rajganj Rural Hospital receives a large number of patients and visitors every single day. For a long time, the lack of proper drinking water facilities caused significant inconvenience to everyone visiting the hospital. To resolve this persistent issue, the local Panchayat Samiti took the initiative to install a solar-powered water system to ensure a consistent supply of water for the hospital premises.

Official Inauguration Ceremony

On Monday, MLA Khageswar Roy (referred to in the source as Dinesh Sarkar) officially inaugurated the new water tank. The facility is expected to make clean drinking water easily accessible to all patients and their attendants who visit the hospital for medical treatment. The inauguration event was attended by Block Health Officer Dr. Rahul Ray, opposition leader of the Rajganj Panchayat Samiti Nitai Mandal, and other local officials.

Future Plans for Hospital Facilities

During the event, it was noted that the solar-powered system is a major step toward improving infrastructure at the hospital. Officials mentioned that further initiatives to install additional solar water tanks may be considered in the future based on the requirements of the hospital campus. This installation marks a significant improvement in the basic amenities provided to the public at this rural health center, as reported by Hindusthan Samachar.
