Forest frontline staff at Raimona National Park in Assam received ten rugged bicycles on October 14, 2026. These bicycles will help forest workers do low-impact and zero-emission patrolling on remote trails. This new step aims to reduce vehicular noise in sensitive wildlife corridors and improve field movement.
The distribution program was a joint effort by the Bodoland Territorial Council Forest Department and the conservation group Aaranyak. Many important officials attended the handover ceremony, including James Basumatary, Sabharam Basumatary, Dr. Sonali Ghosh, Mustafa Ali Ahmed, P.K. Bhuyan, and Dr. Bibhuti Prasad Lahkar.
Aaranyak stated that the bicycles will boost the daily work capacity of forest staff who protect the park. The organization also promised to keep supporting frontline workers in their wildlife protection tasks.
