Birbhum district police conducted a raid at the Domkal house of Saigal Hossain in connection with the Tulu Mandal stone trader case. Birbhum police special investigation team searched the house with Saigal Hossain. Family members were questioned and several documents were checked during the search operation.
Police earlier raided the Bolpur flat of Saigal Hossain and recovered cash and gold.
Saigal Hossain was arrested on the same day following the recovery of cash and gold. Police also searched the in-laws house of Tulu Mandal close associate Prabeer Das in Berhampore.
Prabeer Das worked as a clerk in the Mohammadbazar land department in Birbhum. Police arrested Prabeer Das on charges of extortion and financial irregularities.
Tulu Mandal has been missing since the assembly election results were announced.
Calcutta High Court did not interfere in the police investigation regarding this case.
