Assam is observing the 100th birth anniversary of legendary artist Dr. Bhupen Hazarika with events across the state on September 8, 2026. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed extensive arrangements to mark this milestone.
The year-long birth centenary celebrations will end on November 29, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi as reported by

Chief Minister Sarma stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the final event in the national capital.
