Phulbari Ghoshpukur Bypass Road Repair Works Begin In Siliguri

Repair work for the Phulbari-Ghoshpukur bypass road has officially started in Siliguri after a long demand from locals. State Tourism and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sankar Ghosh and Dabgram-Phulbari BJP MLA Shikha Chatterjee launched the road construction work from Phulbari toll gate to the intake well on Thursday. SJDA CEO Bir Vikram Rai, Traffic DCP Kazi Shamsuddin Ahmed, along with other administrative officers and local leaders, were present at the event.

Road Repair Details and Cost

Tourism Minister Sankar Ghosh stated that about 1.40 kilometers of the road from Phulbari toll gate to the intake well will be rebuilt. The width of the road will be 10.50 meters. The upper layer of the old and damaged road will be removed to build a new bituminous road. This project is estimated to cost around eight crore rupees. The target is to make the road motorable for vehicle movement before Durga Puja.
