Eighteen people were arrested during a multi-agency crackdown across Assam, Mizoram, and Manipur. The operation named Operation Trident targeted an international narcotics network across 38 locations.
Authorities froze 1,424 bank accounts and attached properties worth Rs 17.82 crore. The operation also uncovered hawala transactions worth Rs 100 crore along with 500 detonators and Rs 12 lakh in cash.
The network smuggled narcotics across the borders of India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh through the Death Triangle Corridor. Central agencies and state police forces worked together to dismantle these financial channels and drug networks.
