NTPC Bongaigaon has signed an agreement to build a new archery academy in Mizoram with a funding of Rs 13.28 crore. This project is part of the company social responsibility program in the Northeast region and will be completed in three years. The formal agreement was signed on October 8, 2026, and made public on October 12, 2026.
The new facility in Lengpui will include modern target ranges, sports medicine units, and living quarters for athletes. The main goal is to offer professional training, proper gear, and infrastructure to find and train young talent for district, state, and national sports events.
The Mizoram State Sports Council will manage and maintain the daily operations of the new sports facility. Meanwhile, NTPC Bongaigaon will provide the required funds and check the project progress regularly. Officials including the Mizoram sports minister and NTPC representatives attended the signing event.
