North East Students Festival 2026 Celebrates Culture

The 9th edition of the North East Students Festival 2026 was held on September 4 and 5, 2026, at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Organized by the non-profit organization My Home India, the event showcased the vibrant cultural traditions of Northeast India with the theme The Sound of India's Yuva Shakti. Admission to the festival was free for people who completed advance online registration to get a digital QR entry pass.

Guests and Speeches

Union Minister for the Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, attended the event as the chief guest. He stated that the festival theme aligns with the vision for Viksit Bharat 2047. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and My Home India founder Sunil Deodhar also addressed the attendees. Other high-profile guests at the event included Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and several other leaders.

Performances and Events

Musical performances featured regional artists including Sourabhee Debbarma, Dikshu Sarma, and Danube Kangjam. The festival also hosted a TRIBE COLOR fashion showcase curated by designer Pinhoi A. Sangma and an inter-college cultural competition with cash prizes and trophies for the winners.
