NIA Arrests 13 in JMB Terror Conspiracy Case

The National Investigation Agency arrested 13 people during raids across three states in a major terror conspiracy case. The arrests happened after day-long searches at 16 different locations in Assam, West Bengal, and Kerala.

Details of the Raids and Arrests

Out of the 13 accused persons taken into custody, eight were caught in Assam, four in West Bengal, and one in Kerala. Investigators also seized several digital devices such as mobile phones, pen drives, and memory cards from them.

Background of the Case

The case is linked to Imam Mahmuder Kafila, which is an offshoot of the terror group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh. Officials stated that the group was working to spread its extremist ideology and radicalize youth in West Bengal and northeastern states.
