School children inaugurated a new traffic booth in Siliguri to improve traffic control in the city. The new booth was opened on Thursday near the Indira Gandhi Maidan at Shahid Nagar's Bishwanath Singh More by the Bhaktinagar Traffic Guard.
Top traffic department officials attended the opening ceremony. Those present included DCP Traffic Kazi Shamsuddin Ahmed, ACP Traffic Subbir Dutta, and Bhaktinagar Traffic Guard OC Amartya Chakraborty. The program began with senior traffic police officers being welcomed with bouquets before the children cut the ribbon.
This is the first traffic booth in Siliguri to include a toilet facility. According to the traffic department, this feature will provide special convenience to both male and female traffic personnel. The department stated that the new booth will help make traffic management in the area more organized and effective.
