New Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya to Open in Malbazar

The central government is planning to establish a new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in the Malbazar block of Jalpaiguri district. The local administration has already identified 33 acres of land for the construction of this new school campus. This initiative aims to expand educational opportunities for students living in the tea garden areas and other underserved regions of the Dooars.
Details of the New School Project
During a recent school foundation day event, officials shared updates regarding the progress of the project. Subir Khadal, the SDO, confirmed that the necessary official processes for the school establishment have already begun. Currently, there are 661 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas operating across the country. Once the Malbazar facility is completed, it will become the second such institution within the Jalpaiguri district, allowing more students to access quality education.
Student Achievements and Admissions
The foundation day program featured cultural performances, yoga demonstrations, and recognition for academic excellence. Several students were honored for their achievements, including those who passed the NEET examination, participants selected for national-level athletics, and winners of the Green Olympiad. The school administration announced that the online application process for admission into Class 6 for the upcoming academic session is scheduled to be held on November 28.
