New Girls Hostel Inaugurated At RGIPT Sivasagar Campus

A new girls hostel has been officially opened at the Sivasagar Campus of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology to improve student facilities.

The newly completed Girls Hostel One was inaugurated on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Professor Harish Hirani, Director of the institute, opened the building as the chief guest along with Registrar Professor M. S. Bala.

Growing Need For Accommodation

The new hostel has a capacity of one hundred girl students to solve the current shortage of rooms. Institute officials noted that the number of girl students seeking admission has been steadily increasing, which previously forced three students to share a single room.
