The Narcotics Control Bureau in Guwahati seized 53.937 kg of Methamphetamine and WY tablets valued at about Rs 43 crore in an intelligence-led operation.
Officers intercepted two trucks during the operation on October 6 and found
specially fabricated concealed cavities inside the fuel tanks of both vehicles. Two drug traffickers from Bishnupur, Manipur, were arrested on the spot. The investigation shows that the seized
consignment came from Myanmar, and authorities are now working to identify all international suppliers and domestic receivers involved in the network.
In a separate special drive against wanted persons in drug cases, the NCB also
apprehended six key accused from different states. Two of these individuals are from Assam, while the others hail from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, and Tripura to bring evading suspects to justice.
