The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BRAC International to launch the SAY-SOBLOK programme. This three-year initiative aims to support 4,000 extremely vulnerable households across Nagaland. The partnership was formalised at a hotel in Kohima to help families achieve better economic security through a structured and time-bound intervention.
The programme is aligned with the Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission.
It combines household-level coaching with livelihood development and financial inclusion. Officials stated that the initiative will help families access government entitlements, essential services, and build resilience against financial setbacks.
The project draws on a globally tested Graduation Approach to guide vulnerable households towards sustainable livelihoods.
State officials emphasized transparent beneficiary identification and strong coordination between district teams. The partnership seeks to ensure that marginalized families, especially women-led households, gain stable incomes and self-reliance.
