Nagaland Road Blocked Due to Massive Mudslide

A massive debris flow has completely blocked the primary roadway linking Longleng to Changtongya in eastern Nagaland. Heavy shale mud and detached sandstone boulders fell down the hillside following days of continuous rain and water saturation. This sudden collapse destroyed roadside stone walls and left a sixty-meter stretch completely closed to all motor traffic.

Road Damage and Traffic Disruption

Drivers and goods transporters are currently stranded because the road is impassable. Large cracks are still appearing up the mountain ridge, and officials warn that more rocks might fall. The district disaster management team has sent earth-clearing machines to the site, but continuous falling mud is forcing workers to step back for safety.

Supply Chain Impact and Detours

This road blockage has stopped the direct supply of vegetables and poultry into Longleng town. Local administrative officers are now sending emergency vehicles through single-lane dirt detours along the Dikhu riverbank.
