A group of youths from Moradabad led by Vasu Sharma has started a Kanwar Yatra to express their opposition to current UGC policies while participating in religious rituals. The participants intend to complete their journey by performing a jalabhishek of Lord Shiva on the second Monday of Sawan.

Details of the Protest Yatra

Youths in Moradabad are expressing strong dissatisfaction regarding UGC policies. To highlight their concerns peacefully, Vasu Sharma began a Kanwar Yatra while raising the slogan of UGC rollback. The group aims to register their protest and demand through this religious journey. Along with Vasu Sharma, the group includes Vishal Saini, Prashant Saini, Mohit Dubey, Vishnu Sharma, Paras Sharma, Naveen Sharma, and Abhishek Sharma.

Reception at Mahakaleshwar Temple

On Sunday morning, the group reached the Mahakaleshwar temple as part of their journey. They were welcomed by the district president of the Bhagwan Parshuram Sewa Samiti, Rajat Sharma, and Surya Sharma. Rajat Sharma stated that the youth have a democratic right to raise their demands in a peaceful manner. He noted that the participants feel the current policies impact the rights and opportunities of students from the general category.

Objective of the Kanwar Yatra

Vasu Sharma explained that this journey serves as both a religious practice and a platform to communicate their demands to society and the government. The participants emphasized that their goal is to seek equal opportunities and justice for general category students rather than opposing any specific community. The Yatra will conclude on the second Monday of Sawan when the youths perform the rituals at a temple, using the occasion to bring their concerns regarding the UGC rollback to the public domain.
