MLA Football Cup 2026 Begins in Rajganj

The one-day day-night MLA Football Cup 2026 started on Sunday at the Chintamohan High School ground in Ambari, located in the Rajganj block of Jalpaiguri district.

Opening Ceremony and Guests

Monika Adhikari, President of Rajganj Panchayat Samiti, and Nitai Mandal, Vice-President, officially opened the tournament by kicking a football. Rajganj BDO Shubhankar Das, Bhorer Alo Police Station In-Charge Sudip Dutta, Ambari Range Ranger Pukur Tamang, panchayat representatives, and other dignitaries were present at the event.

Teams and Prizes

According to the organizers, a total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament. The winning and runner-up teams will receive trophies along with cash prizes. Rajganj MLA Dinen Sarkar, the chief organizer, could not attend the opening ceremony as he is busy with an event in Kolkata.
