Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has launched four major digital financial management initiatives to improve public money management. These new systems include the Mizoram Integrated Works Accounts System, e-Sanction, e-Budget, and 100 percent Direct Benefit Transfer. The Chief Minister’s Office announced that these steps aim to bring more transparency and efficiency to state finances.
The Finance Department implemented these four digital tools to modernise financial administration in the state. The Mizoram Integrated Works Accounts System will help manage works accounts across six major government departments.
This system will improve the reconciliation of spending figures and ensure proper submission of vouchers through the treasury. The e-Budget module allows online preparation and submission of budget proposals to reduce manual work and errors. Meanwhile, the e-Sanction module helps process expenditure approvals electronically from local offices to the finance department.
This online process will also stop spending money that goes beyond the approved budget limit.Under the 100 percent Direct Benefit Transfer system, payments for state schemes will go straight to bank accounts. Schemes like Thlai Thar Leina, Bana Kaih, and Power Subsidy are part of this direct transfer method.
Citizens can also track their payment status through the integrated financial management information system.
