Milk Boiling Woman Meets Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
A woman whose stove was removed on a footpath met the Chief Minister at a public meeting.
Seeta Devi, a woman who lives on the Park Street footpath, met Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at the BJP office in Salt Lake on Tuesday. She was carrying a child in her arms when she met him to share her problems.
Reactions to the Meeting
The Chief Minister spoke to the media after the meeting and blamed former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the incident. He alleged that money was given to the woman to speak against the BJP. Seeta Devi stated that she trusts the government and will not fall for political traps. The Chief Minister also promised to arrange proper housing for her so she does not have to live on the street.
Background of the Incident
Earlier, Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Pal got angry and scolded the woman for boiling milk on a footpath using a stove during an anti-encroachment drive. Political leaders have continuously argued about this event since it happened. Mamata Banerjee had earlier offered to arrange housing, food, and education for the family at a coworker's home.
