Manipur Police Conducts Drug Awareness in 110 Schools

The Narcotics and Affairs of Border wing of the Manipur Police is running an anti-drug campaign across the state to promote a drug-free environment. The initiative has reached over 110 schools so far, including a recent awareness program held at Holy Kingdom School in Tarung to inform students about the physical, mental, and legal dangers of drug use.

Community Involvement and Outreach

Beyond school visits, the police department has organized 14 community sessions with local clubs, women's groups, and village leaders. These meetings aim to improve the early detection and reporting of drug-related activities within local neighborhoods. The department is working closely with these groups to ensure better monitoring and community safety.

Mobile Awareness Campaigns

Following the completion of the outreach phase in Imphal West, the mobile awareness campaign has now started in Imphal East. These mobile units use loudspeakers to broadcast information about available rehabilitation resources and reporting hotlines. The broadcasts also provide details regarding the strict legal consequences for drug-related offenses under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
