Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh distributed subsidies to 2,835 eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme in Imphal. The event took place in connection with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The initiative will help small and unorganised food-processing businesses upgrade, grow, and enter the formal economy in the state. The funds under the scheme were released by the centre earlier, and the area level federation decided to disburse the assistance. Cheques were handed over to some beneficiaries, while others received their subsidy through direct benefit transfer.
Peace and normalcy have gradually started returning to the state with the resumption of road travel through Kangpokpi. People from different communities have begun to rekindle bonds of friendship and understanding. The Chief Minister appealed to all citizens to refrain from bandhs and blockades to restore lasting peace.
