Actor Manav Kaul said he and his team initially thought the International Emmy nomination for their series Real Kashmir Football Club was a prank. The sports drama received a nomination in the Best Drama Series category at the upcoming International Emmy Awards. The series will compete against A Thousand Blows, Careme, and Menem.
Kaul expressed disbelief when he first learned about the nomination and only celebrated after confirming the news themselves. The actor was in Paris at the time and realized how big the achievement was after landing back in India and seeing congratulatory messages.
Real Kashmir Football Club is based on the true story of Jammu and Kashmir’s first professional football club. Directed by Mahesh Mathai and Rajesh Mapuskar, the series premiered on SonyLIV on December 9, 2025, and also stars Zeeshan Ayyub and Abhishant Rana.
