West Bengal leader Mamata Banerjee announced that she will not retire from politics and will continue her fight until the Bharatiya Janata Party is pushed aside. Speaking on a live video, she stated that people quickly understood the real face of the party soon after the power change in the state. She also raised concerns about the ongoing census process.
Banerjee warned people to be very careful during the census, claiming it is another attempt to implement the national register. She advised citizens to check all documents carefully before sharing any personal details. She further blamed the central government over delays in the Annapurna scheme funds and accused them of reducing beneficiary numbers on the grounds of ineligibility. She stated that her government started the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme to make women self-reliant.
Mamata criticized the opposition for campus violence at Jadavpur University while noting that her party respects students despite some differences. She also responded to an incident where a state minister scolded a mother and child living on a Park Street footpath.
Banerjee declared that she is ready to take full responsibility for the mother and son who faced harsh words from the leader.
