A female non-teaching staff member was allegedly beaten by students inside a school in Malda. The incident took place at Jagdal High School located in Bamongola, Malda. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The woman was appointed as a non-teaching staff member at the school about a year and a half ago.
The dispute started on Friday over giving a transfer certificate to a former student. According to the allegations, some students entered the staff room and started beating her. The viral video shows pictures of the fight. The woman worker also allegedly beat up some students in return.
The female employee alleged that students beat her up due to the instigation of the school acting headmaster and some assistant teachers. She filed a written complaint at the Bamongola police station. The school management rejected the woman's allegations and accused her of lying. BJP leader Biswajit Roy demanded a police investigation and action, while TMC leader Biswajit Roy also demanded a fair investigation and strict action against anyone found guilty.
