The raid resulted in the arrest of three suspects currently held in police remand at the local police station. Authorities initiated the operation following reports from village elders concerning localized youth gangs utilizing unregistered two-wheelers to transport synthetic drugs via riverbank tracks.
Law enforcement intercepted the couriers at an unlit crossroad, leading to the seizure of six sealed plastic containers containing suspected refined contraband. Additionally, police confiscated four mobile communication devices and two motorcycles used for the distribution of the substances. Investigations revealed the motorcycles lacked valid transit documents and featured altered chassis marks intended to evade police registration databases.
Police are now working to trace upstream river ferry links used to transport illicit drugs across the Brahmaputra River from the Jorhat mainland. The impounded motorcycles and communication devices have been formally logged as material evidence to support upcoming court proceedings.
