Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain won her first Asian Games gold medal on her 29th birthday in the women's 75kg final. She defeated China's Bao Ziyi 5-0 at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Friday.

Father Expresses Joy

Her father Tiken Borgohain said the family was overjoyed after her win. He stated that she wanted to change the colour of the silver medal she won at the previous edition. Tiken thanked countrymen for their prayers and support.

Match Details

Lovlina produced a composed performance against the aggressive Chinese boxer. She stayed patient and landed effective counter punches throughout the three rounds. The victory took India's medal tally to 70 at the games, which includes 12 gold, 24 silver, and 34 bronze medals.
