Landslide Hits Takdah Hospital In Darjeeling

A severe landslide hit the Takdah Cantonment Hospital in Darjeeling on Friday morning, leaving one patient relative seriously injured. Continuous heavy rainfall in the hills triggered the sudden landslide at around 3:30 AM, trapping six people inside the hospital premises. While five people managed to escape safely, one family member of a patient got trapped under the debris.

Rescue Operation And Hospital Details

The rescue team quickly pulled the injured person out of the debris and shifted him to the Darjeeling District Hospital for better treatment. The Takdah Rural Hospital is a major government health center located in the Rangli-Rangliot block, about 28 kilometers away from Darjeeling city. Continuous rain is said to be the main cause of the landslide, and the district administration is closely monitoring the situation.
