Lallu Mukhia Arrested From Siliguri In Rape Case

Ahmad Hussain alias Lallu Mukhia, the Pouakhali Nagar Panchayat chairman representative, was arrested by police from a hotel in Siliguri. He was on the run for nearly four weeks in connection with a rape case. The police acted on secret information and mobile location to nab the accused.

Police Action and Arrest

A special investigation team formed under the direction of the Superintendent of Police tracked the accused to Siliguri. The SDPO stated that the accused kept changing his hiding places to evade arrest. His anticipatory bail petition was earlier rejected by the court, prompting police to intensify the search.

Details of the Case

A woman had lodged an FIR at the Pouakhali police station alleging rape after being taken under the pretext of a panchayat meeting. The complaint stated that on the night of July 28, the woman, her husband, and daughter were taken in a vehicle to resolve a dispute. The victim alleged that her husband was given a sedative and she was taken to a hotel in Kishanganj where she was assaulted.
