Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh has raised questions about the rules and eligibility criteria of the Annapurna scheme. During a press conference, he stated that while the Chief Minister announced that all eligible people will get the benefit, the exact eligibility conditions and rules remain unclear.
Kunal Ghosh asked why it was not made clear before the elections that certain conditions would apply to get the scheme benefits. He claimed that promises were made before the elections to increase the Laxmi Bhandar amount, which led many people to vote for the government.
Women in various districts have staged protests alleging non-payment of the Annapurna scheme funds. Many women have complained that they have not received the benefits of the scheme yet. However, the report noted that comments were also made clarifying that eligible people will definitely receive the Annapurna scheme money.
