Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha submitted a memorandum to the CEO of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad on Thursday regarding various demands and issues. Kisan Sabha representatives alleged that the work of the Mahakuma Parishad has been almost stopped for a long time after the resignation of the Sabhadhipati. Questions were also raised about the role of the administration regarding this matter.
Through the memorandum, the Kisan Sabha placed a total of ten questions and demands, asking for a reply within the next ten days.
Representatives asked under which law the general meeting is being called and through which process the council work is running after the resignation of the Sabhadhipati. Resentment was also expressed over dilapidated roads and poor drainage systems in rural areas, lack of a plan to prevent dengue, no survey for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and non-start of 100 days of work.
The Kisan Sabha also raised the issue of problems faced by farmers due to the closure of animal markets in rural areas. Demand was made to re-include eligible people deprived of the Annapurna Yojana, ration, housing, and employment schemes.
Kisan Sabha representatives have demanded that the administration solve these problems soon.
