Khoribari police have arrested one person with an illegal firearm and ammunition near the Bengal-Bihar border.
Khoribari police intercepted a motorcycle coming from Bihar towards Khoribari on Saturday night.
During the search, officers recovered a firearm and one round of live cartridge from the possession of the accused, identified as Khurshid Alam from Chakkarmari.
The accused was booked under the Arms Act following the recovery.
Police stated that he would be presented in the Siliguri court on Sunday to seek further remand for investigation.
