Kharagpur Railway Division Holds Fire Safety Training

South Eastern Railway has organized a fire safety and firefighting training program for frontline railway staff at the RPF Zonal Training Institute in Kharagpur. The main objective of this training is to improve fire safety readiness and emergency response skills among railway workers. This training program is meant for commercial staff working in the field, railway employees at the division office, outsourcing staff, and members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade in Kharagpur.

Expert Fire Safety Training

The training is being conducted in coordination with expert faculty members from the Departmental Fire Officer of the West Bengal Fire Services, West Medinipur. The weekly training program is held every Monday from August 10, 2026, to October 12, 2026. This initiative gives participants practical training in fire prevention, firefighting techniques, and quick action during fire emergencies.

Learning Key Fire Safety Skills

During the sessions, participants learn how to identify potential fire risks, follow basic fire safety precautions, choose and safely operate fire extinguishers, and take initial action during fire incidents. Workers also receive training on safe evacuation procedures and other necessary techniques. This practical demonstration helps frontline staff respond effectively during emergencies. This program is part of the ongoing efforts by the Kharagpur division to build staff capacity and strengthen safety preparations within the railway premises.
