Juris Nexus 2026 Moot Court Focuses On AI And IPR

Law students from across the globe have gathered for the three-day International Moot Court Competition named Juris Nexus 2026 at Chandigarh University. The event focuses on artificial intelligence and intellectual property rights challenges. A total of 112 teams from 20 Indian states and six countries are participating in the competition. The participating countries include the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal, and South Africa. The competition features a prize pool of over Rs 1.8 lakh, with the winner receiving Rs 1 lakh and the runner-up receiving Rs 50 thousand. Additional prizes will be awarded for the Best Memorial, Best Mooter, and Best Researcher. Dignitaries present at the inauguration included Justice Rajesh Bindal, former Supreme Court Judge and Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, and Justice Sant Parkash, Chairperson of the Punjab State Human Rights Commission. Speakers at the event highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the legal profession and judicial systems. They noted that while technology aids legal research, the application of human mind and professional ethics remains essential.
