School Education Minister Dipak Barman has taken strict action in the recent assault case involving the headmaster of Jalpaiguri District School. The minister has directed the District Inspector of Schools to identify the involved students and issue transfer certificates by Saturday. The clash happened following a dispute over special food on Teachers Day, which led to a physical fight between students and the headmaster.
Minister Dipak Barman visited the school on Friday to gather details about the incident and held a meeting with the school management committee. He also visited a seventh-grade classroom to teach students and later
spoke with the parents of the students accused in the assault. During a meeting with district headmasters and school inspectors, the decision to issue transfer certificates was finalized.
The minister clarified that the school management must help the students get admission in other schools so they do not face unnecessary trouble regarding their future studies.
