Jalpaiguri Hospital Clash Over Patient Husband Beating

Tension spread at the Matri Maa department of Jalpaiguri Medical College and Hospital after a woman delivery patient husband was allegedly beaten by security guards. A written complaint was filed at Kotwali police station against the security guards regarding the alleged assault and misbehavior with patient family members. Sameer Sarkar went to the hospital to see his wife and sick child. Guards stopped him from entering despite having a visiting card which led to an argument.

Hospital Protest And Police Action

Other patient relatives protested outside the hospital after the incident and accused security guards of arbitrary behavior along with hospital staff taking illegal money. Kotwali police station officers reached the spot and controlled the situation after receiving information. Hospital management refused to comment in front of the media by citing government rules while the role of the accused security guard is being investigated.
