Fire department officials inspected private hospitals in Jalpaiguri on Monday to check emergency preparations before the Durga Puja festival. The inspection focused on fire safety equipment and proper security arrangements inside the hospital premises.
Officials checked hospital corridors to ensure safe movement for patients and the public during an emergency.
They also verified rescue arrangements to make sure there are no obstacles in safely evacuating patients if a fire breaks out.
According to the fire department,
safety checks are being conducted in government and private institutions, hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls before the festival.
Strict action will be taken if any rules are violated or if there are gaps in fire safety arrangements.
