Jalpaiguri Excise Department Seizes Illegal Liquor

The Jalpaiguri excise department conducted a joint raid and recovered a huge amount of illegal liquor and raw materials used for making alcohol in the region. The raid took place early in the morning on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in the Saraswatipur area under the Alor police station limits in Gajoldoba.

Seized Items and Value

During the operation, authorities recovered a total of 135 liters of ID liquor, 56 plastic drums, and 3,920 liters of fermented wash. The total estimated value of the seized items is 8 lakh 51 thousand 500 rupees.

Legal Action

KS Bridhi, the excise department circle inspector, shared details about the joint operation. The concerned department is now taking further legal action regarding the matter.
