The Indian Army has officially started a five-day Agniveer recruitment rally at the Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat, Agartala. This event is organised by the Spear Corps and the Army Recruiting Office, Silchar, and will continue until October 17.
High Participation from Local Youth
According to official data, the number of candidate registrations has increased by 92 per cent compared to previous recruitment cycles. On the first day, the rally began with a 1.6-kilometre run, which saw 337 candidates participate in the opening batch. Those who successfully completed the run moved on to the next stages, which include physical fitness tests, physical measurements, document verification, and medical examinations.
Schedule and Administrative Support
The recruitment process is split into two phases. The first phase from October 13 to 15 focuses on physical runs and initial medical screenings. The final two days, October 16 and 17, are reserved for specialised medical evaluations and final administrative formalities. The Army is working with the local civil administration to ensure the process runs smoothly. The venue provides essential facilities such as holding areas, emergency medical stations, and drinking water for all participants.
