India achieved their highest successful run chase in ODI history by defeating the West Indies by eight wickets in the second ODI in Guwahati on Wednesday. India chased down the target of 406 in just 43.3 overs, becoming only the second team after South Africa to successfully chase a 400-plus target in ODI cricket.
Shubman Gill scored a double century with 223 runs off 133 balls, while
Rohit Sharma scored 101 runs off 75 balls. The opening pair put on a stand of 255 runs before Rohit was dismissed. Virat Kohli scored 29 runs, and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 31 runs to help India win the match with six overs to spare.

West Indies scored 405/7 in 50 overs after centuries from John Campbell, Shai Hope, and Amir Jangoo. Campbell scored 101 runs, Hope made 104 runs, and Jangoo scored 114 runs. For India, Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets for 65 runs as the hosts claimed seven wickets in total.
