Senior diplomats and experts met in Guwahati and Shillong for the Brahmaputra-Chao Phraya Dialogue. The two-day meeting on September 22 and 23 focused on building strong ties between India and Thailand with a special focus on the Northeast region.
The first day of the event in Guwahati talked about human capital, education, and healthcare. Leaders stressed the need to move past formal agreements and focus on real on-ground work through student exchanges and youth entrepreneurship.
Discussions on the second day in Shillong centered on better transport and trade connections. Experts talked about new air routes, green energy projects, and regional platforms like BIMSTEC to help boost trade and tourism between the two countries.
